Another site steals games from NG

Posted by e104joker May. 4, 2008 @ 2:41 PM EDT

Well i heard about this site alot with my friends but i never cared to watch it until today,
and i got surprised because they told me they had alot of games, and i said well maybe they are emulated games or something, and they where flash games , and not just any flash games but the ones form NEWGROUNDS D=
i found
Pico blast
The Last Stand 2
Matrix Pandemonium
and alot more
and i was asking myself if they asked the autors first before taking these flash games?
the page is
http://www.minijuegos.com
well maybe some peaple dont think this is wrong but i would get mad if someone just takes my work and nobody knows that i made it but well post what you think about all this..
I made this post since peaple today are with this little anger with youtube for users stealing movies
, so i thoght that maybe they will be interested. ^^"

Henry out..

That was the old attitude but it's really not that bad. TONS of sites steal from NG, other game sites, and each other. It's a viral process that can't be stopped. So take advantage of it! Brand your movies/games and make sure people know who made it. Put in links back to your site. You can even stick in ads via the NG API and make some money on it.

Well that sounds good,
sounds easy for me, and well about making monny out of flash sounds cool

I've known www.minijuegos.com from a looooooong time, and I've seen many flashes with the NG tank logo there. minijuegos is a site that rips flash games and movies from all over the internet but around 60% of them, are from newgrounds.
I don't know if that is right, but it feels terrible when you see your work in another site without your permission. That's why I stopped visiting that page, because I don't know if that's legal or not...

AND FUCK YOU GMAGNUM! I had to learn english for understanding this site!

May. 4, 2008 | 3:06 PM sgamer4 says:

Just so you know....
You can just go to the page maker and file a complaint and a why

tell them they stole you'r flash work and they will be shut down AND fined just so you know if you see this go do just that and close down that site...

May. 4, 2008 | 3:12 PM OrigamiNugget says:

That's grimey. bastards.

May. 4, 2008 | 3:43 PM RPGamer says:

Yeah I know what you mean, I have found tons and tons of sites with NG stuff in them, but as Afro-Ninja states you gotta used that to your advantage, you know making lemonade out of lemons. At least is not like YouTube where they just eliminate the author from the video.

and to Gmagnum, what is wrong with the spanish language huh???

May. 4, 2008 | 3:48 PM Osuka says:

would be great to know the code that adam phillips uses in he´s movies to protect it, only can be viewed on NG

May. 4, 2008 | 3:49 PM Drkflash says:

I understand where you are coming from, and the least those freakin' theives could do is say what site the games are from to spread the word of NG.

May. 4, 2008 | 3:57 PM e104joker responds:

Yeah , that could be the less that they could do

May. 4, 2008 | 4:07 PM Dazmi says:

There's a lot of websites like that.
You should report it to Tom, Wade, or one of the mods

May. 4, 2008 | 4:09 PM Doomslash says:

oh, I know about that site

May. 4, 2008 | 4:09 PM Hoeloe says:

It steals from sites other than NG too. I know of this site because it stole a demo for a game TaroNuke and I are working on. Good thing we have our logo in it :P

May. 4, 2008 | 4:10 PM Doomslash says:

go to naruto102.newgrounds.com if you hate sinitron

May. 4, 2008 | 4:44 PM Louissi says:

Maybe he steals from an other flash site that stole from ng, who could know? Use Mochibot and put your artist name IN your flash, so whatever where it goes, you are still recognized as the author. My games went on some japanese website once haha.

May. 4, 2008 | 6:04 PM iamnecromantic says:

a lot of the people above this post suggested that you just put your name on the animations and slap on a few ads for some cash, because then there's more benefit for you. they are not taking into account the fact that many of those sites also have ads. I know of one in particular that is absolutely obnoxious. their ads give them so much profit that they can actually give money away regularly. I'm actually actively campaigning against it... kinda.

point is, this is in no way moral or justified.

May. 4, 2008 | 6:27 PM Coolio-Niato says:

Dude. Where have you been? This has been happening for years on many different sites. That's the whole point of an ingame ad system, so even if people steal ur game, you benefit from it.

Slow today aren't we?

May. 4, 2008 | 10:44 PM e104joker responds:

i said about that site
DAA i already know that peaple steales flash but i wanted to peaple to know if they knew that site

May. 4, 2008 | 8:24 PM supersatan3 says:

Is there any way we could discourage their theft?
I'd write them an e-mail, but they probably can't read english.

May. 4, 2008 | 9:26 PM Sonucais says:

Llegas MUY tarde amigo.

May. 4, 2008 | 10:43 PM e104joker responds:

Te la tiras que sabes español o realmente lo sabes?

May. 4, 2008 | 11:53 PM Kajenx says:

As Afro and Coolio said, this is common. But it's also a great thing. The revolution of viral internet games has benefited a lot of people with sponsorships and such. I mean, I'm going through college working part time making video games and selling sponsorships, which are a hot commodity in the viral world.

Personally, I wish there were more sites that stole flash movies so we could get a sponsorship system going with those.

Anyway, it's very simple to site lock a game, so if game-creators really cared about it, they'd add two lines of code and voila, problem solved.

May. 5, 2008 | 12:23 AM Luis says:

someones probably already said this but with the NG ad serving API you can use their stealing to your advantage... castle crashing the beards most fame comes from outside ng.... i figure if people are going to steal and make money from you.. you may as well make money from that.. and the API allows you to do that.

May. 5, 2008 | 1:07 AM e104joker responds:

Wow i actualy did not know that
well before Afro-ninja posted that,
but to be honest i dont know what is the API ^^"
i have never heard about it before i would like to know more about it sounds good .

I've actually had two of my flashes stolen from Newgrounds and put on another site and its a real pain. The site at least credited the authors but still they stole various flashes without asking permission.
